Autism Awareness

With 1 in 54 children in the United States living with autism it is important to educate others on what autism is and isn’t and encourage inclusive behaviors to promote acceptance of all people. During the month of April, we celebrate National Autism Awareness Month to spread awareness, promote acceptance, and ignite change.

What Is Autism Awareness Month?

Autism Awareness Month was launched by the Autism Society in 1970 “to promote autism awareness and assure that all affected by autism are able to achieve the highest quality of life possible”.

At Relias, we put together some of our best resources to help teachers and families understand autism and how to properly use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We hope these resources will help educators and parents feel confident in their ability to care and support autism spectrum disorders.

What Is Autism?

The Autism Society put together an infographic to help provide information and understanding around autism and how it affects our communities. It includes the definition, signs and symptoms, as well as current statistics on Autism in the United States.

Free ABA Parent Training Plan

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, RBTs and BCBAs may not be able to provide their normal ABA services. In response to this, Relias Academy developed a new training plan that parents can take to help them feel more confident in their ability to support their children with ASD.
