Vista Equity Partners announces the formation of Relias Learning

Seasoned Executive and Cloud Software Veteran Jim Triandiflou joins as CEO of Relias Learning

CARY, NC, August 14, 2012 – Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a private equity firm with over $6.6 billion in committed capital, today announced that its e-learning platform will be known as Relias Learning (“Relias”) to better reflect its position as the leading provider of verticalized, cloud-based e-learning solutions.  Relias Learning will initially be formed by Essential Learning and Silverchair Learning Systems.

Vista Equity Partners recently acquired Essential Learning, the leading provider of interactive e-learning solutions to behavioral and community health, substance abuse, corrections, developmental disability and child welfare service organizations and Silverchair Learning Systems, the superior source of interactive education and communication programs for the senior care industry.  Putting these two companies under Relias Learning will allow them to continue to operate as individual business units while sharing best practices and leveraging shared infrastructure.

In addition to announcing Relias Learning, Vista also announced that Jim Triandiflou has been appointed as CEO of Relias.  Triandiflou brings his deep experience in scaling fast-growing cloud software companies to support Relias’ rapid growth. Relias will continue to operate through its two divisions, Essential Learning led by President Rick Rattray and Silverchair Learning Systems led by President Mike Mutka. As CEO, Triandiflou will work closely with Rattray and Mutka to continue building upon thought leadership in their respective markets, while collaborating to provide best-in-class products and technology platforms for their customer.

“We are excited to attract someone of Jim’s caliber and are confident that his leadership experience with high-growth cloud software companies and his passion for best-in-class execution are a great fit with Relias”, said Rob Rogers, Principal and Co-Head of Vista Equity Partners Foundation Fund and Relias board member. “Together with Rick and Mike, we have an outstanding leadership team to meet the needs of our existing customers and grow our presence in this exciting e-learning market.”

Triandiflou’s leadership experience includes serving as CEO of Insight Direct, the leading provider of cloud-based business management software for field service businesses (acquired by Marathon Data Corporation), and as COO of Centive, a leading cloud-based provider of incentive compensation management software (acquired by Xactly Corporation). Triandiflou joined Centive through the acquisition of Ockham Technologies, where he was founder and CEO.

“I am excited to be joining the Relias team and help the company reach its full potential,” said Triandiflou. “Both organizations have done a tremendous job serving their clients over the last decade, a true testament to the entire team at Essential Learning and Silverchair Learning Systems, and I am humbled to partner with Rick and Mike to scale the divisions into world-class organizations.”

“We welcome Jim to the Relias family and look forward to benefiting from his leadership and technology experience,” said Mutka. “Jim’s joining further reflects our commitment on delivering world-class solutions to help our clients and our markets be successful,” added Rattray.
