PDPM and Staff Training: The Intersection of Payment Reform and the Requirements of Participation

About This Webinar

With the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM) fast approaching – and 60 days later, Phase 3 of the Requirements of Participation (ROP 3), homes are pressed to get everything done to be ready. PDPM is requiring homes to take a serious look at their resident quality mix to determine if the skill and need mix will optimize PDPM reimbursement. This process is also pushing homes to closely look at their current staff resources to ensure that they have the right skill mix to prepare for a potentially more clinically complex resident becoming the norm. This means evaluating your staff for their skill set to support this transition.

We have spent years conditioning nurses to focus on therapy provision as a driver for care and it is time to get back to good clinical care delivery and meeting patient needs! Good nursing care is how homes will succeed through PDPM. Homes will need to have an education plan to address the staff and volunteer training requirements with ROP 3 and integrate the competency model from Phase 2 to not only address the needs of a changing resident population but to also be compliant during a survey.

Watch this webinar to learn how to:

  • Understand how PDPM may change your resident population and how that ties into staff skills
  • Implement a competency framework to manage staff education and upskilling needs
  • Develop a plan for ensuring they are meeting the ROP requirements for education and how that relates back to their facility assessment
