Seramount Names Relias as one of the 2021 100 Best Companies

North Carolina based tech company recognized for prioritizing parents during COVID-19

Relias, a software company specializing in education solutions for healthcare providers, has been recognized as one of Seramount’s (formerly Working Mother Media) 2021 100 Best Companies.

2021 Award for 100 Best Companies with parents and babyRepresenting almost four million employees in the United States, this year’s winners are actively focusing on inclusive benefits for families, including paid gender-neutral parental leave, backup childcare, and supporting their employees throughout COVID-19.

Relias, headquartered in the heart of the Research Triangle Park in Morrisville, NC, partners with over 11,000 healthcare client organizations and employs more than 800 people worldwide. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Relias immediately prioritized the safety of its employees and sought to address the needs of their customers by providing free resources for infection control and other related training.

Recognizing working from home was difficult for many, particularly for parents, Relias leadership provided resources and support for employees in the hopes of reducing stress and avoiding burnout. Among these were access to mental health and wellness resources, virtual workshops to foster interaction, and 80 additional hours of paid-time-off to allow flexibility and support their families.

“The challenges of COVID-19 underscored the endless contributions and sacrifices that working parents make each day,” said Kay Krafft, Relias Chief Executive Officer. “We put measures in place that specifically saw to the health and safety of all our employees and their families throughout the pandemic. Because to Relias, their well-being is what matters the most.”

This year, Seramount’s application includes more than 400 questions related to leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, flexibility, and more. It added specific questions about how organizations helped parents and caretakers with time off, flexible hours, and other benefits during COVID-19. It surveys the availability and usage of these programs, as well as the accountability of the many managers who oversee them. The results show a significant difference between the responses of companies that made the list and those that didn’t, showcasing how the 100 Best Companies pivoted to help working families.

Key findings from the 2021 100 Best Companies:

  • Companies continue to move toward gender-neutral parental leave: 88% of this year’s winners offer fully paid, gender-neutral parental leave, compared to 67% of winners a year ago.
  • Ninety-one percent of winning companies offer backup childcare in centers, while 79% offer backup childcare in the home.

“From day one, actively supporting every single one of our employees with meaningful benefits and programs has been part of the fabric of who we are as a company,” said Tina Krebs, Relias Chief People Officer. “We’re especially proud of this recognition from a storied diversity, equity, and inclusion authority like Seramount. It lets us know that we’re providing the security, support, and flexibility our employees need not just to accomplish the hard work they do here at Relias, but also the countless endeavors they conquer outside the office to do the truly inspiring work they do every day.”

Relias continues to support its employees as they work from home while balancing the evolving demands of raising families during a global pandemic. The company is committed to doing whatever it takes to foster an environment where every individual employee is given the resources and flexibility they need to thrive amid so much adversity and uncertainty.
