Relias Learning Announces Acquisition of Autism Training Solutions

Relias Learning builds on its industry leading platform with the addition of the number one provider of online Applied Behavioral Analysis training

CARY, NC, June 12, 2014 – Relias Learning, the leader in online training for human services organizations, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Autism Training Solutions (ATS). The acquisition adds more than 2,000 Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) training video clips and over 60 hours of expert instruction to Relias Learning’s comprehensive training library.

ATS is designed specifically for ABA professionals. The five-step eTraining solution combines online video interventions, interactive activities, assessments, supervision and certification to prepare industry professionals to provide the best possible care. Relias Learning’s training library now provides expert instruction in behavior planning, differential reinforcement, positive vs. negative reinforcement and principles of behavior.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for Relias to serve a rapidly growing market and ensure that our customers always have the very best training and education solutions available,” says Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias Learning. “The increasing rate of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) nationwide is a major challenge that deserves much attention. ATS has the best training content dealing with this growing disability in America, and the ATS team is recognized around the world as an authority on helping people with autism lead fulfilling lives. Our goal is to bring the very best training to human services providers in all fields, and having ATS as part of the Relias family furthers our leadership position.”

One in 68 children is affected by ASD, making it the fastest-growing developmental disability in the United States. Individuals with ASD are in great need of medical, behavioral and developmental health services. This year, the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) established a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential for frontline staff. The RBT requires behavioral technicians to complete a 40-hour training program demonstrating their competency in implementing ABA programs.

ATS is approved by the BACB for continuing education credits, aligned with the National Autism Center’s (NAC) National Standards Project, reviewed by the field’s leading minds and in-house behavior analysts.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Relias family,” says Emaley McCulloch, M.Ed., BCBA, co-founder and president of ATS. “Our customers are very excited about the impact that the Relias Learning Management System will have on their ability to train and educate their staff in a world of continually changing requirements and regulations. The ability to leverage ATS’ courses and to create custom content through Relias will help them provide families the very best in quality care.”

“We continue to see strong organic growth for Relias in our core markets,” says Triandiflou, “and the ability to integrate new content and new industries is another exciting growth opportunity.”
