The Future of CCBHCs: Opportunities for Expansion and Lessons Learned From the Field

About This Webinar

Since 2017, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) demonstration program has significantly improved access to quality mental health and addiction care in community-based settings. In their first year, 66 CCBHCs across eight states served an estimated 380,000 people, including nearly 270,000 Medicaid beneficiaries.

Based on early successes of the program, Congress has acted five times to extend the demonstration and has allocated $450 million to date for CCBHC expansion grants. Meanwhile, states are exploring opportunities to implement the CCBHC initiative via Medicaid waivers or State Plan Amendments. In this environment, what does the future look like for the program—and how can clinics seize the opportunity to leverage CCBHC status and funding to enhance staff training and clinical operations?

Join leaders from the National Council for Behavioral Health and Relias, as they discuss the current and future state of CCBHCs.

Watch this webinar to learn:

  • The ins and outs of the CCBHC model and why states are turning to it as the “gold standard” of delivery system transformation
  • Opportunities the CCBHC model presents for clinics—and lessons learned from the first cohort of CCBHCs about how to fully realize those opportunities
  • What the future holds for adoption of the CCBHC model outside the original demonstration
  • How clinics can leverage CCBHC status to advance staff training, implement a culture of learning, and support clinicians through the transition in team structure and functions
